Listed are some of the more commonly asked questions we receive.

Who will be DJing our event?
Lucky in Love is a family owned and run business. Both Steven and Jillian will be the DJ and M.C. of your event.
Does Lucky in Love perform at more than one event a day?
No. To ensure that each event we DJ is our highest priority, Lucky in Love only books one event per day. This way we can give you the full attention your event deserves.
What attire do you wear at events?
We are always dressed in professional, formal attire unless otherwise requested.
Do I have to pay extra for lights?
No. Every package includes music for the evening and lights to add to the effect on the dance floor. We also have a variety of services that you can add to your package for additional costs.
Can we meet with you to discuss our event in person?
Sure! We enjoy meeting with clients to learn more about them and their event. We are happy to travel to your home or a comfortable and quiet coffee shop to discuss the ideas and details of your celebration. We also prefer a meeting 4-6 weeks prior to your event to finalize details. Customers are also more than welcome to contact us through email or by phone whenever they have a question or concern.
Do you have a backup system?
Yes! Our primary unit is our laptop, utilizing Traktor 3 DJ premier software, but we also bring a Denon Dual CD/MP3 player as our backup system with a large catalog of the most popular and requested music in CD/MP3 format.
Will you travel to areas outside the Hudson Valley?
Yes! Any location within 30 miles of Newburgh, NY will not be charged a travel fee. Any event being held outside of this 30 mile radius will be charged $0.50 per mile and events 200 miles or more require a hotel room fee for the evening of the event.
Will you perform at outdoor venues?
Yes, however we do require that we and all of our equipment be protected by a tent or other covering, supplied by either the client or the venue.
Do you perform any live music?
Yes! Steven can perform live, acoustic music for $200 an hour, a great addition for your cocktail hour. He can also perform songs during the evening of your event for $10 per song.
Can Lucky in Love provide music for the wedding ceremony?
Yes. Lucky in Love is available to play pre-recorded music on their speakers for an extra charge of $200. This is a great feature for weddings held at the reception site.
Do you have a sample itinerary for a wedding reception?
Yes! We have a sample itinerary for a four-hour, traditional wedding reception. However, we are more than willing to put together a unique itinerary customized for your wedding reception.
I have no idea what songs to have played at my party/reception. Do you have any suggestions?
Yes! We have compiled a list of the most popular songs played at most events, including songs for special dances.
I’m having a Sweet 16. What special elements are typically included for a Sweet 16?

We have created a sample timeline itinerary to better understand how Lucky in Love can help celebrate your Sweet 16.

A traditional Sweet 16 may include a special dance with a parent/special relative.

The birthday girl/boy may also choose to incorporate a "Candle Lighting Ceremony" saying a few kind words about specific family members or friends and then inviting them up to help light the candles on their cake. Lucky in Love will be happy to customize individual songs to be played for each, specific person lighting the candle.
